(ANSA) - ROME, 14 JUL - On 27, 28 and 29 September the documentary "Oasis Knebworth 1996", a concert by the bandinglese, arrives in the Italian cinemas (on 23 September in the rest of the world). Tickets will be on sale from Tuesday 10 August, a date that marks 25 years since the first of the two evenings that saw the Gallagher brothers on stage. Oasis Knebworth 1996, directed by Grammy Award-winning director Jake Scott, is the story of the special relationship between Oasis and their fans, which made possible the realization of the biggest concert of the 90s. The film is built around archival material with unpublished content, backstage films, as well as interviews with the band, organizers and fans present. The two record-breaking evenings were held on 10 and 11 August 1996,with over a quarter of a million young fans from all over the world converging on Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire. The live sold out in less than 24 hours, upsetting all the records of the British box office. The organizers estimated that the band could have sold two if not three times as much.

More than 2% of the UK population had tried to buy tickets. These concerts were held at a time when the UK was slowly recovering from a decade of recession. Coming out of the 1980s, the nation's mood was changing. A resurrection in the artistic-cultural field was giving birth to Cool Britanniae, in their meteoric rise, Oasis embodied the newly found optimism and audacity. In the Knebworth concerts a setlist full of classics, from the opening with Columbia and Acquiesce up to Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back In Anger, Live Forever, from I Am The Walrus (accompanied by the orchestra) to Wonderwall (first song of the 90s to exceed one billion streams on Spotify). Liam Gallagher explains: "Knebworth for me was the Woodstock of the 90s. The only things that mattered were the music and the people. I don't remember much of that concert, but I will never forget it. It was biblical. "(ANSA).
