Damascus-SANA
The Excellence and Creativity Authority announced the qualification of 101 male and female students to the exams of the final stage of the Youth Science Olympiad in Mathematics and Science for the year 2021.
The authority stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that the finalists are the top fifty students in both science and mathematics majors, and an additional student was accepted in the mathematics major as a result of repeating the same last acceptable mark for more than one student.
The commission explained that the final stage exams will be held during the period between 1-4-8-2021 at the Conferences Palace in Damascus and will include questions that measure students' logical analysis and mathematical thinking skills, which are questions inspired by the scientific structure of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad.
The competition, according to the Commission's statement, will be for gold, silver, and bronze medals and certificates of appreciation. The top ten in the final stage will qualify for direct participation in the final qualifiers for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for tenth graders without passing the qualification tests.
On the 17th and 24th of last June, the Department of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Commission held the qualifying exams at the governorate level, in which 415 male and female students from different governorates participated, including 155 in science and 260 in mathematics.
