Parts of Germany are under water after heavy rains. As here in Hagen, streets turned into raging rivers. At least four people have died in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Ahrweiler. Six houses collapsed in the Eiffel, and according to the police, almost 70 people are missing. Numerous residents had to save themselves on the roofs of their houses. North Rhine-Westphalia is similarly badly affected, two firefighters died in action here. On Wednesday, the fire brigade in Düsseldorf-Grafenberg tried to contain the flooding of the Düssel with sandbags. In Schleswig-Holstein, too, like here in Kiel, there were floods caused by heavy rain. The fire brigade pumped out the basement and property. The German Weather Service issued a warning for southwest Germany:More heavy rain can be expected until Friday afternoon.
