ROME - A group of young people and a daring idea: to leave everything to set out on foot through the mountains to discover the Sentiero Italia, the longest high altitude trail in Italy and in the world, in the belief that - in a world that runs and flows - walking is a revolutionary gesture, a way to become aware of what surrounds us and return to take care of it, and again, to meet, know and tell stories. Thus begins a journey of 7000 km along all the Italian mountains, between scenarios of inestimable beauty and precious encounters, told for the first time on TV by "Va 'Sentiero - Italy on foot", an original laF production, made by Ascent Films, broadcast from Monday 19 July at 9.10 pm on laF (Sky 135) and available on demand on Sky, Sky Go and Now TV.

Created in 1983, the Sentiero Italia follows the mountain ridges of the whole country through 20 regions and over 360 villages, with a positive difference in height of 350,000 meters. The idea of ​​bringing this extraordinary heritage back to light comes from three friends who shared the dream of telling the Italian mountains with a young and original voice: Yuri, hiking guide, Sara, photographer and anthropology student, and Giacomo, who worked in a start up; they are joined by the philosopher cook Francesco and the videomaker Andrea. Along the way, kilometer after kilometer, path after path, escorted at a distance by the retired truck driver Giovanni driving the support van, the boys meet many young people who join them and accompany them for one or more stages, including Martina , who permanently joins the team,in an adventurous journey of fifteen months that will change their lives forever. In each of the 8 episodes of 25 'each, the children rediscover an Italian territory off the beaten tourist track, appreciating the most evocative sceneries and landscapes and collecting the stories of the people they met on their path, the inhabitants of the small villages they crossed, young and old. , custodians of traditions and culture, witnesses of a life immersed in beauty and nature, but also in a state of isolation not without difficulties and contrasts. During this journey of 14 months and 7000 km on foot on the backbones of all of Italy, the children told about the Italian mountains in an unprecedented and original way through social networks, a website, video and photographic reports, a book, events in the area,call to action to walk with them.

"Va 'Sentiero - Italy on foot" is not only a travel diary but also the story of the people who have decided to undertake it.

Each episode follows the path and evolution of one of the boys, bringing to light the dynamics of a group, born a little by chance, which found itself sharing a unique and unpredictable collective experience: friendships and clashes, moments of discouragement or tension, the shared joy for the goals achieved together, in what will be, according to everyone's voice, the most demanding and incredible adventure of their life.
