The spokesman for the initiative »Eckiger Tisch«, Matthias Katsch, sharply criticizes Pope Francis for his handling of dealing with church abuse.
In a letter to the Vatican, Katsch is "very disappointed" that Francis had "turned down" the resignation of the Archbishop of Munich Reinhard Marx at the beginning of June.
According to his own statement, Cardinal Marx wanted to show responsibility in the abuse crisis with the request.
"Your repentance is cheap," writes Katsch.
And it remains "without consequences" for those affected.
He demands from the Pope a worldwide "enlightenment and investigation project" based on files from the Vatican archives.
He demands from Francis financial compensation for the victims and a "culture of listening".
The Pope should invite those affected to a meeting in the Vatican, said Katsch.
