"Greener, more beautiful, smarter cities to overcome the challenges of our time - says the president of Crea, Carlo Gaudio - from pollution to climate change, from hydrogeological instability to the protection of biodiversity, for the defense of health".
The trees, recalls Crea, are able to lower the temperature in the city by at least 5 ° C, thus reducing energy consumption for air conditioning homes in the summer.
Each plant, in fact, produces an average of 20-30 liters of oxygen per day, purifying the air from carbon dioxide.
The temporary green area was created by the agronomist designer of Conaf da Barbara Invernizzi, inspired by the ancient forests of Lazio. Twenty different species of tall trees for a new logic of urban green, based on the rediscovery of naturalness and biodiversity. Plants that after installation will be donated by the president of Crea to the Municipality of Rome, so that they can be relocated to the city for the benefit of the Romans. In the VerdeCittà stand in the square it is possible to take guided tours, receive information and advice on the benefits of greenery as well as on its daily management and book visits to the Municipal Rose Garden.
