They call him "vampire": In Kenya's capital, Nairobi, a man is said to have murdered at least ten children in the past five years.
The 20-year-old confessed to kidnapping, killing and leaving the children in the thicket, the Kenyan criminal police said on Twitter.
Masten Milimo W. was arrested on Wednesday for the murder of two children whose bodies were found in a forest in Nairobi.
During his interrogation, the young man then made the confession, it was said.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), W. had massacred his victims particularly "mercilessly".
For example, he said that some of his victims "sucked the blood out of their veins before murdering them" like a "bloodthirsty vampire".
W. threw the corpses of his victims into sewers or undergrowth.
However, the bodies of several of his alleged victims have not yet been found.
Suspect reportedly drugged children
The man's alleged acts began five years ago and were directed against children aged twelve or 13.
According to the police, W. numbed his victims with a white substance, bleeded them to death and strangled some of them.
On Thursday, a court ordered W. to be held in custody for 30 days to give the police time for further investigations.
The police said that W. had shown no remorse with his confession.
Rather, he said that his deeds had given him "great pleasure".
