The educational crisis in the province of Chubut seems to have no end and the opposition asks Governor

Mario Arcioni

to "

be the only priority for the second semester

."

It is that in the Patagonian province

classes have not been taught regularly since 2016

due to salary and judicial problems.

“In the province of Chubut, since 2016, classes are not taught on a regular basis.

It has already been five years without satisfactory completion of the school year and

more than three full years without classes

.

This national shame has only one person responsible: Governor Mariano Arcioni ”, assured the national deputy for Together for Change,

Ignacio Torres

.

So far in his administration, he has appointed six ministers.

One of them, Graciela Cigudosa, even had to resign after she was prosecuted and brought to trial

for acts of corruption

linked to irregularities and

overpricing in hiring of her portfolio

.

In November of last year, to the already recurring judicial and salary problems, the controversial decision that students

repeat 2020 during the next cycle was also added

.

"However, when this year a gradual return to the face-to-face system was attempted, the state of abandonment of the school institutions caused a

strike by managers and the resurgence of the wage conflict

," Torres explained.

Finally, the national deputy for Together for Change asked that education be a top priority.

“Teachers are already calling for a strike after the holidays

due to the building situation of the schools and the lack of heating

.

We need the commitment of both the provincial government and the national government.

Without education, our children will have no future

”.

Ignacio "Nacho" Torres, deputy of Together for the Change of Chubut.

Next week a meeting of delegates will be called to analyze the actions that can be carried out

on days of unemployment

, in addition to making the community aware of the situation of teaching workers.

For some years now, pediatricians in the province have warned that the lack of education increased the number of consultations associated with clinical disorders associated with the absence of classes.

Professionals warn that the prolonged school crisis generates pathologies in boys such as

anguish, depression, chest pain, headaches

, abdominal pain, obesity, accidents and domestic trauma, excessive screens, etc.

Already in 2019, the head of Pediatrics of the Esquel Zonal Hospital, Alfredo Pérez Maldonado, signed together with the president of the Argentine Society of Pediatrics Branch Esquel, Mirta Moreschi, a note where he began to raise the problem.

Something that got worse over time

.

Long before the coronavirus arrived in the country, Maldonado affirmed that the problem with the lack of classes "is a matter of State

that the boys see their rights violated

."

He said that his office began to detect symptoms and diseases related to not attending class.

"

School gives kids an identity

, and it's like an adult who suffers from depression and other situations when they lose their job."

All of that got worse with the pandemic and quarantine

.

The teaching unions urgently requested last Thursday the Ministry of Education of Chubut, now in charge of Florencia Perata, a meeting

to evaluate the sanitary protocols for when the school year resumes

after the winter holidays.

"A further spread of the virus must be prevented in advance, in a scenario in which social mobility will increase,

and we still do not know how the new strains will advance

, the Delta for example, or

in what percentage the vaccination process will be in the population

", asked the unions in the document delivered to the officials.

The relationship between the unions and the officials had its peak of anger and discomfort on the day that Nicolás Trotta, Minister of Education of the Nation, visited the city of Rawson in February of this year to meet with local authorities and review the teaching situation.

That day the person in charge of the educational portfolio was insulted and incidents occurred.

The protesters kicked the car in which the official was leaving and stuck posters on it.

That time Trotta defined the situation of teachers in the province as

"a labyrinth

.

"

After the meeting ended, the Police

tried to carry out a diversionary operation

and withdrew the Minister in a red car through a back door of the local Ministry of Education building, but to no avail: the protesters detected it and incidents occurred.
