Alon Livne - Thyme Fashion Week Tel Aviv 2021 (Photography and Production - Rape Entertainment and the Israeli Fashion Channel - Broadcast on Network 13)

The wedding season returned to our lives about two months ago in a comeback that many and many have been waiting for, and the current wave has also been joined by me, an average Corona bride, who spends most of her time praying, pleading and sacrificing to the God who will allow me and my partner to hold the event on time.

Distraction is almost perfect, made yesterday (Sunday) Fashion designer oak and birch storm, which caused me to put aside the charts in Excel and schedule meetings with suppliers.

Slap his personal Instagram page, Birch accused the bride dresses designer Dana Harel copying one of his designs , After her dress appeared on the bride Manor on the show "Wedding at First Sight", which aired last night on Rainbow 12. According to the designer, Harel took on "over-inspiration" and the dress is "one-on-one" like his other dress, a model called "Cassie".

The quarrel dress.

Harel's spoken dress, model "Daria", is made of satin with side creases and a shell slit. According to photos from the designer's Instagram page, it can be seen that the suspenders have been specially adapted to the 33-year-old manor, and in the original model from the collection, they sit on the shoulders diagonally.

"This is not the first time this has happened here in our little swamp, but is it like this in prime time? One-on-one?", Livne wrote in the angry story. "Anyway, the original dress is of course available in my studio for those who are not satisfied with less than perfect. And last thing, for all those who write to me, leave, it is not to your level, ignore, you design on and it does not sell at all, do not give it a stage, etc.… Who took over-inspiration (trying to be gentle) from my dresses is really endless. But sometimes it's one step too many. Sometimes it's just the same thing. It's called simple Hebrew theft. "To see a prime time dress like this in a designer who dresses a bride in my dress and brags about her glorious design is simply irrelevant. It hurts the livelihood, the essence of a designer's profession and is especially embarrassing for her. Hopefully it will make some change. And whoever has no ideas of his own will think of another profession."

Designer Dana Harel responded to the storm by saying that "Alon Livne is a veteran and talented designer, I appreciate him professionally and wish him only good, especially now in the Corona period when all businesses in our field are trying to rebuild themselves."

Harel denied allegations of copying and said that the "Daria" dress has been with her in the studio for two years and many brides have already worn it at their event.

"I am very confident in myself but my heart goes out to designers who have been through this situation and their confidence has been damaged," Harel added.

"I suggest that everyone engage in their work, even so it is not easy to run a business in Israel that relies entirely on blue and white production."

Remember, this is not the first time the Tel Aviv designer has accused other fashion houses of copying his works.

In 2015, Livneh claimed that the Italian fashion house Versace designed a "suspiciously reminiscent" model of one of the models he designed for a capsule collection he created for the Castro chain, and in 2018 he hinted that Eden Ben Zaken's wedding dress, designed for her by Bertha, is very reminiscent of One of the wedding dresses he designed that year.

Another anecdote took place in the shadow of New York Fashion Week events last year, when rising fashion designer Christian Cyriano presented a black evening dress, very similar to a wedding dress he designed for Birch for Lake Rodberg in the summer of 2019. Surprisingly, the Israeli designer chose not to speak out against Cyriano.

But if we focus for a moment on the quarrelsome dress and its striking elements, which include a strapless neckline, flattering side creases, a shell slit and falling suspenders, it seems very reminiscent of another dress by an even better known designer - Vivian Westwood - who has used such motifs in her dresses for decades. Years.

At the same time, a quick search on Pinterest brings up dozens of other dresses by designers from around the world, with almost identical characteristics to Birch and Harel models - which perhaps emphasizes more than any inspiration, copy, original and imitation are blurry and deceptive similarities that will forever serve as a fertile ground for particularly explosive discourse. In the local and global fashion industry.
