The Syrian team participating in the International Mental Arithmetic Championship, which was held in Egypt, won the first place in the competition in which 51 teams from different countries of the world participated.
The victory of the Syrian team, consisting of six children, came after the child Azad Salar Khalaf achieved first place in the competition.
The team's coach, Rawda Al-Muktaf, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the Syrian team achieved almost perfect results through Azad Salar Khalaf, who won the first place for the third level, pointing out that the rest of the team members also achieved advanced positions, including Zana Othman in second place in the third level and Rodi Chalabi in the center. The second place is in the first level, Alia Saleh is the third in the first level, Suleiman Al-Salloumi is the third in the second level, and Dara Jamal is the fourth in the first level.
The participating Syrian team from the city of Qamishli finished the competition in a record time of two minutes and forty seconds out of four minutes, which is the competition time specified by the committee.
It is noteworthy that the competition began on the fifteenth of this month via the Zoom program on the Internet, and its results were announced yesterday evening.
