The corona is back, and more and more parents find themselves in a movie they hoped to leave behind - a message from kindergarten or school that the child has been exposed to a verified patient, and from there a mess of corona tests, prolonged isolation and a lot of uncertainty.
Given that today there are 67,232 people in isolation in Israel (!), With more than a third of them being children, we decided to gather all the most relevant information on corona and isolation guidelines.

Who should go into isolation?
Anyone who has not been vaccinated and has been in contact with a verified corona patient during the 7 days before a positive result was obtained must be isolated.
In addition, anyone returning from abroad and not being vaccinated should be in isolation. Upon entering isolation this must be reported on the Ministry of Health website.
Holders of a vaccination certificate or a valid recovery certificate do not need isolation even after contact with a verified patient.
How long should you stay in isolation?
After exposure to a verified patient or return from abroad of the unvaccinated, 14 days of isolation must be entered. As of last week, the isolation can be shortened to 7 days, subject to two negative tests. , And at least 24 hours after the first test. From the moment you receive a negative result in the second test, you can leave the isolation, and do not have to wait for an official announcement from the Ministry of Health.

Where is a corona test done?
On the Home Front Command website, you will find an updated list of the areas where corona examinations can be performed in their area of residence, without the need to consult a doctor and without making an appointment in advance.
You must arrive at the examination with an ID card.
Another option is to perform the test through the HMOs, which operate their own complexes, by making an appointment only in advance and after receiving a referral.
Either way, the test results are received 48 hours after the test date, through your HMO website and in a text message.
It should be noted that corona checks before flights abroad are only performed privately.
There are also drive-in complexes that are suitable for insulators.

Should all the family members of the isolator be in isolation?
If your (unvaccinated) child is in isolation, you have two options.
1. To completely separate the member of the household who needs insulation - a separate room, separate toilets and separate meals.
According to the Ministry of Health, "members of the isolator's home, who are not required to be in isolation, who have entered the isolation space on a daily or one-time basis for more than 15 minutes - will be required to enter the isolation themselves."
2. Enter together all family members (who are not vaccinated) for isolation.
This point is especially important since quite a few parents whose child is in isolation send their other children to school, even though they are staying in the same home.
This is a mistake that can endanger many children with infection - someone who is in isolation after being exposed to a corona patient may develop symptoms during the days of isolation, and if his family members continue to behave normally - they expose more people to the virus.
And what if the child is verified to Corona?
If symptoms of corona appear during the isolation, you can consult your doctor or the HMO call center.
The Ministry of Health instructs not to go to the HMO or emergency room unless it is an urgent medical case.
In this case, MDA has evacuated through the emergency room after updating them that this patient Corona verified.
In the case of a positive response to investigate the sources, has to remain in isolation until a definition of "recovering." Here, too, household members vaccinated and recover not committed in isolation, but Everything else - must be isolated.Considering the fact that the Delta variant is highly contagious, it is recommended that vaccinated people who share a home with a corona patient be tested as well - but this is not the official guideline at the moment.
