"Today Roberto Occhiuto's candidacy for the presidency of Calabria is the result of one of the rules that have jumped and therefore the evaluation must be made".
Thus the president of Fratelli d'Italia, Giorgia Meloni referring to the center-right candidate for the regional elections in Calabria.
He said it at a press conference in Rome.
And he reiterated: "This is what we are discussing internally".
"Today if the rules are broken, the evaluation must be made on which is the most competitive candidate. These are evaluations that we are still doing", added Meloni.
Responding to a question on the ticket between Mario Occhiuto and Nino Spirlì, he said: "We are discussing internally and we do not make party choices that come before the good of the citizens, we always start from what is needed by the citizens".
And on the center-right he declared "I still believe it but I want to understand if the others believe it too, because too many things have happened that make me fear" talking about the relations in the coalition after the appointment of the RAI directors.
"I do not understand what is happening and that work is being done to make us lose our patience and favor the current majority," he added.
"The members of the Rai board of directors voted - he specified - were chosen from parties and not from the government. They are the ones who have to take responsibility for something unprecedented".
During the press conference, the president of the Brothers of Italy presented the adhesion of Lucio Malan, former Forza Italia senator to the party.
Currently in the Senate he has the role of deputy vice president of the group.
Malan joined FI in 1996, he is in the Senate in 2001. In 2013 he was elected senator quaestor with the People of liberties.
"I am very proud of his experience, seriousness and compatibility with the battles of the Brothers of Italy" said Meloni, stressing that his membership "shows that we are able to attract the ruling class" and is an example of the parliamentarians who "see in us the their natural landing ".
