According to the latest rumors, the new iPhone 13 family will have an 'always-on' screen.

Jargon known as 'always-on', this is the same technique that allows the Apple Watch, the Apple connected watch, to show time and notifications, even when the user is not using it, without a heavy impact on battery life. According to what the MacRumors website reports, the novelty would be made possible by the use, on the iPhone 13, of Ltpo panels, produced by the Display division of Samsung.

These, unlike OLEDs, in fact allow to maintain high vision quality, reducing energy consumption.

Specifically, the iPhone 13 could independently scale the refresh rate when the smartphone is not in use, displaying the time, date and notifications, in a sort of energy saving mode. When the user turns on the screen, it returns to the default resolution which, in the case of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, should reach the peak of 120 Hz refresh rate, the same as some current top of the range, such as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. In addition to the advanced displays, the next iPhones will house better cameras and few design changes. Last year, Apple brought back a squarer profile for the iPhone 12, very similar to that of the iPhone 5. Despite the similar construction, it seems that the new iPhones will be slightly thicker and heavier.just to accommodate the new panel hardware and larger battery modules.
