In Los Angeles, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised from sports jersey auctions.
A jersey of the three-time world footballer Zinédine Zidane was auctioned for 108,800 dollars, as the auction house Julien's Auctions announced.
The shirt was made for the 1998 World Cup final, with Zidane scoring two goals against Brazil.
The 3-0 win made the French national team world champions for the first time.
Fifa and the supplier Adidas confirmed the authenticity of the piece.
However, according to the auction house, it is unclear whether Zidane even wore it during the final game.
Still, the jersey was valued at $ 80,000 to $ 120,000.
Zidane started as a coach after his active career and won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid between 2016 and 2018.
More than $ 500,000 for a high school jersey
An old jersey of US basketball player LeBron James redeemed even more.
A high school jersey of the superstar was already auctioned on Saturday for the record price of $ 512,000.
James was wearing the shirt when he first appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine in 2002.
Today's basketball superstar was the first high school junior in history to appear on the cover of sports magazine.
The title of the issue was "The Chosen One".
After his high school career, he skipped college and joined the NBA at the age of 18, and is now considered one of the best basketball players in history.
According to the auction house, the jersey from the “Sports Illustrated” cover is considered the “holy grail of LeBron James memorabilia”.
