The Chinese-Canadian singer and actor Kris Wu is accused of sexual assault - among other things, he has now lost advertising contracts with partners like Porsche as a result. The influencer Du Meizhu had accused him in an interview on the website »NetEase« on Sunday of luring her to his home under false promises and making her drunk when she was 17. The "Hollywood Reporter" reports. He had sexual intercourse with her while she was passed out. The same thing happened to other women. Wu denied the allegations.
The 30-year-old became known as a member of the K-pop band Exo, which was founded in 2012.
Their debut album »Xoxo« was already a great success.
In 2014 Wu released his first solo song and also took on roles in several movies, including Luc Besson's fantasy spectacle "Valerian - The City of a Thousand Planets" (2017).
Wu is one of the most popular Asian stars of his generation.
The Chinese newspaper "Global Times" reports that Wu offered Du Meizhu money to prevent her from going public with her allegations.
The French luxury goods company Louis Vuitton, for which Wu previously worked, announced on the Weibo short message service that they were taking the allegations very seriously and suspending business relationships with the star until they were resolved.
Porsche announced that it had ended the partnership with Wu.
