China, presented guidelines for having up to three children

(ANSA) - BEIJING, 21 JUL - Tax deductions for expenses on children under three, new policies to finance maternal care, parental leave and support for fertility treatments: China responds to the demographic decline and the aging of the population with a document of 29 articles to allow a couple to have up to three children, preparing the birth aid measures. Adopted on June 26 by the CCP Central Committee and the central government, the guidelines are aimed at "improving birth policies to promote long-term balanced demographic development," official media reported late in the evening.
