Several children and adolescents presumably staged a rampage in Kiel via an emergency call and almost triggered a large police operation.
The four boys between the ages of 13 and 15 called the emergency number 110 from two phone booths on Sunday, the police said.
Accordingly, they stated that a rampage was currently taking place.
The boys are said to have simulated screams and played a video with gunshot noises on a smartphone.
According to the police, the officer in the Kiel control center had to assume an emergency, he apparently initiated preparations for a large-scale operation in the city center.
However, at the time of the calls, a patrol car happened to be near the phone booths.
The police quickly clarified the situation and located the four boys.

The two children and the two teenagers were brought to a police station for an "educational talk" in the presence of their parents, it said.
The police also made complaints, among other things, for misusing emergency calls and faking criminal offenses.
According to the notification, the costs for the police operation must be borne by the parents.
