Tax evasion for personal income tax, IRES, VAT and IRAP in 2018 was 79.8 billion, down by almost 9 billion compared to 2011. This was stated by the director of the Revenue Agency, Ernesto Maria Ruffini in a Uil webinar on 'tax evasion pointing out that "something is moving". "It's just a trend that we need to consolidate and try to improve. The issue, however - is how to reduce the tax gap and not how many checks the Revenue Agency has to make.
The Agency works if it manages to control all the tax evaders but it still works more the country system if it manages to ensure that the tax evaders are not there or are reduced ".
