It costs, for those recovered from Covid, a single dose of vaccine within 12 months

People cured of Covid-19 will be able to take a single dose of the vaccine within 12 months of the first positive swab after the disease.

Undersecretary for Health Andrea Costa said this to ANSA, specifying that this extends the time frame of the current legislation, which provides for a single vaccination dose within 6 months of recovery.

This, he specified, "on the basis of new scientific evidence" relating to the duration of immunity.

A provision in this regard, announced Costa, "will be adopted in a short time, probably already within this week".

What happened, explains Costa, is that "many citizens who have contracted Covid-19 and who received a dose of the vaccine, then had difficulty in obtaining the green pass, and this is because in some regions the dose was administered perhaps after six months expected. Therefore, the system platform did not generate the green pass since the algorithm provided for vaccination for the recovered within six months ". If the immunization was then carried out at six months and 1 day, for example, the system did not recognize the single dose as a complete cycle - as is expected for subjects who have already contracted Covid-19 - but automatically classified that vaccination as incomplete and requiring a second dose for the purpose of the green pass. This, Costa said, "it is a problem that already affects a few thousand citizens and that we will now solve ".

Hypothesis of the wards employment parameter according to incidence

On the new parameters relating to the employment percentages for Covid in the intensive care and ordinary wards, "a modular hypothesis based on the incidence of cases is not excluded. Therefore, there could also be variable percentages depending on the incidence of infections in the different regions ", explains Costa.

This, he notes, "could be a way to give more precise answers and try not to generalize, because sometimes generalizing is likely to penalize territories".

To date 38 million Italians with green pass, now paper after 2 doses

"To date 38 million Italians are already in possession of the green pass and among the topics on the table there is also that of providing for the right to the green pass no longer with the first dose but with the vaccination cycle completed of two doses, or a single dose for those who have already contracted Covid-19 ". This, Costa clarifies, "will obviously provide a sort of transitional period for those who already had the green pass following a first dose of vaccine: they will continue to have the green pass valid until the second dose is administered, so no rights are denied to who has already acquired them ".
