, which started in 2020 on the streaming service. The makers did not shy away from more violent scenes. But don't worry: this isn't a brutal splatter series. Instead, “Great Pretender” tells the exciting and emotional story of several professional scammers who rob rich people of their money.

Great Pretender on Netflix: The Anime's Plot
Makoto "Edamame" Edamura is considered to be the greatest swindler in Japan.
In his hometown he quickly finds the next victim: a supposedly helpless Frenchman, whose wallet he steals.
What Makoto could not suspect: He took on an even more skillful impostor, who shortly afterwards set him up himself.
The French Laurent Thierry is still enthusiastic about Makoto and quickly decides to include him in his gang of fraudsters.
They trick the most dangerous and richest people in the world to get their money.
Laurent, Makoto and the other members live dangerously because they could be caught at any time.
But they take the risks because they all have their own, sometimes very moving reasons for getting through life as swindlers.

"Great Pretender": Will there be a third season on Netflix?
Unfortunately, it is currently unknown
if and when “Great Pretender” will receive a third season.
The story definitely has potential for more episodes.
