The young man is adamant.
He had "no malicious or political intent," he said.
Auditioned as part of the investigation, the teenager, suspected of having caused an electrical cut in a vaccination center, indicated to have approached "out of curiosity" of the generator located outside the building.
After touching a few controls, an alarm went off and the boy allegedly "panicked".
He would have, at first, moved away, before returning to "manipulate all the circuit breakers" which silenced the alarm.
He would then have left the scene.
According to information from France Bleu Belfort-Montbéliard, the young man was known to the police.
Open judicial information
For her part, the Public Prosecutor, Ariane Combarel, also seems to support the thesis of a teenage stupidity and rules out the hypothesis of an act of protest by an opponent of vaccination.
She nevertheless announced the opening of a judicial investigation for "attempted destruction of property intended for the public utility" in order to "deepen the investigations".

The Parquet de Montbéliard specified that to date "no element links the minor to any movement to question the vaccination" but still required the placement under judicial control of the teenager.
No serious consequences
This power cut could have had unfortunate consequences on the doses of vaccine delivered to the center. Indeed, despite the rapid intervention of the municipal services, the 5,383 vaccines stored were "endangered" according to the mayor of Audincourt, Martial Bouquin. However, the elected official told AFP that the doses were "in good condition" after analysis. The Regional Health Agency has authorized their use.
