Mottarone: in August appraisals on cableway and black box

The investigating judge of Verbania, Elena Ceriotti, has entrusted the task to the expert board which will have to ascertain the causes of the accident of the Mottarone cable car, in which 14 people died last May 23. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - MILAN, JULY 22 - The investigating magistrate of Verbania, Elena Ceriotti, has entrusted the task to the expert board that will have to ascertain the causes of the Mottarone cable car accident, in which 14 people died last May 23. The appointed experts will begin operations on August 3 and will have to reconstruct what happened, how it happened and why it happened.


    The IT experts were also assigned to examine the so-called black box of the cable car. The examination of the media and data sheets that recorded the activity of the plant will begin on August 30th.


   While the engineers appointed by the judge will have to illustrate the results of their work in the courtroom on 16 December. In the meantime, Enrico Perocchio, operating director of the Mottarone cableway investigated for the accident, reiterated his conviction "to have done everything for the best, but I have to force myself, because I am very sorry for what happened".
