In the Hamburg trial of the enslavement of two Yazidis, 37-year-old Omaima A. was sentenced to four years in prison.
The Hanseatic Higher Regional Court was convinced that the widow of IS terrorist Denis Cuspert, rapper's name “Deso Dogg”, was a member of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS), aiding and abetting a crime against humanity in the form of enslavement under the International Criminal Code (Az .: 4 St 1/21).
An already legally binding sentence of three and a half years was included in the total custodial sentence.
After an agreement on a range of sentences, the defendant admitted at the beginning of the trial that in 2016 she had her apartment in the Syrian city of Raqqa cleaned by two enslaved Yazidis who were visiting her.
The Hamburg-born German-Tunisian distanced herself from IS and regretted her “wrongdoing”.
In October 2020 Omaima A. was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for membership in a terrorist organization abroad.
Omaima A. lived with her children in Raqqa
Born in Hamburg, she followed her then husband to the so-called Islamic State in Syria in early 2015.
The German-Tunisian lived with her three children in the stronghold of the terrorist organization in Raqqa.
After the death of her husband in the spring of 2015, she married his boyfriend Cuspert.
The Berlin gangster rapper joined IS in 2014 and was on the terrorist list in the USA.
Cuspert is said to have been killed in an air strike in Syria in January 2018.
Omaima A. had previously returned from the terror area in August 2016.
After that, the defendant lived unmolested by prosecution in the Hamburg district of Neugraben, dressed in western clothes and pursued a job.
Only after research by an Arab journalist was she arrested in September 2019.
