None of the 23 wounded involved yesterday in the Capri accident, which cost the driver of the crashed minibus his life, is in danger of life.

Of the injured, 13 are hospitalized at the Sea Hospital in Naples, where an ad hoc ward has been created for them: some have suffered various fractures and will undergo clinical investigations, all are receiving psychological support to overcome the trauma of the accident.

The two injured children are instead hospitalized in the Santobono pediatric hospital: the conditions of the four-year-old boy suffering from head trauma do not cause any concern, while the 12-year-old boy who suffered multiple fractures of the lower limbs underwent surgery.

It is particularly difficult to remove the crashed minibus.

The firefighters have been at work non-stop since late yesterday afternoon: on the island numerous Red Helmets vehicles have been brought, including a helicopter, to try to find a solution to the removal of the vehicle that will have to be subjected to investigations. The main objective is to remove it and release the area, to return it to the citizens, but, at the moment, this solution presents considerable operational difficulties. The area of the tragedy, therefore, remains under sequestration. The surveys on the place where the accident occurred were entrusted to the Traffic Police, under the coordination of the manager of the local police station. Yesterday it was the Operations Center of the Naples Police Headquarters, together with 118, to coordinate the rescue andintervention of the helicopters of various police forces that dealt with the transfer of the wounded, the blood supplies for transfusions and medical equipment.

The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office is evaluating the possibility of preparing the unrepeatable investigations on the minibus directly at the scene of the accident. The evidentiary incident in any case should take place as soon as possible in order to release the area. Among the hypotheses regarding the causes of the incident, in addition to the illness that could have hit the driver, there is also that of the mechanical failure. It will be the autopsy to shed light on the causes of the death of Emanuele Melillo, an experienced driver of just 33 years, married, father of one child and with another on the way. Another detail being examined by the investigators is the use in service in Capri, Thursday morning, of some buses of the ATC, the island transport company, which should have remained in storage:a decision determined by a sudden malfunction of the funicular, to meet the demand for public transport which, in summer, is particularly demanding on the blue island. The appraisals on the crashed minibus will ascertain whether the vehicle was in suitable operating and maintenance conditions.
