Farmland has been completely inundated and crops devastated.
Hundreds of residents had to be evacuated, some in inflatable boats as can be seen in these images.
At least 6 people have died and several are missing.

Impressive landslides have also been reported, a house even collapsed before the helpless eyes of the inhabitants. On the other hand, volunteers had to hurry to locate and rescue stray dogs stuck in flooded shelters.
