Students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad won two bronzes and 3 certificates of appreciation in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), which was organized by Lithuania (remotely) on the 19th and 21st of July, with the participation of 370 students from 76 countries around the world.
The Excellence and Creativity Commission stated in a statement, a copy of which was received by SANA, that the two bronze medals were won by Abdullah Al-Hosni from Damascus and Muhammad Subhi Abu Radan from Aleppo, while the certificates of appreciation were received by students Abdul Aziz Jarbi from Aleppo, Ammar Ali from Latakia and Hadi Salloum from Tartous.
The competitions included two rounds of practical and theoretical tests, each lasting 5 hours, and they dealt with broad scientific axes in modern physics.
It is noteworthy that this is the eighth participation of the students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the International Physics Olympiad.
