At first the water only flowed out of the pipe at low pressure, then nothing came at all: on the North Sea island of Sylt, thousands of households could no longer be supplied with water on Saturday evening.
In the Westerland waterworks there was a software problem that paralyzed the water supply, as reported by the »Bild« newspaper and the »Sylter Rundschau«.
Energieversorgung Sylt posted information on the problem on Facebook and spoke of a brief disruption.
The malfunction has now been resolved.
Only the municipality of Kampen was apparently not affected by the water failure because it has its own water supply.
