Facebook has brought its 'Facebook Gaming' service to the iOS platform, in web app mode.
This is the ability to access the video game site directly from a mobile browser, without having to download any application.
All this is made possible by the PWA development technology, or 'Progressive Web App', which acts as a link to the service on iPhone and iPad.
PWA is a term, coined by Google, which refers to web applications that are developed and loaded like normal internet pages.
Just visit the Facebook Gaming portal from your favorite browser on your smartphone or tablet and add it to the device home ('add to home screen'). The same solution is already used by Amazon and Microsoft for Luna and Xbox Cloud Gaming respectively. Apple changed its guidelines last September to enable cloud gaming clients on iOS but with stakes. "We came to the same conclusion as the others: web apps are the only option for streaming cloud games on iOS at the moment," Vivek Sharma, Facebook's vice president of games told The Verge. "As many have pointed out, Apple's policy of allowing cloud gaming is severely limited, as it requires each title to be downloaded from its own App Store.go through internal review and appear in search lists. This is a paradox with respect to the very purpose of cloud gaming and opting for a web app is, at the moment, the best we can do ". (ANSA).
