Sony accidentally leaked the free games for PS Plus subscribers for the month of August too early.

Players are not entirely satisfied with the selection.

It is well known that you do not look the gift horse in the mouth.

But PlayStation fans are still not entirely satisfied with the selection of PS Plus free games in August.

Sony usually announces the free games on the last Wednesday of each month.

This time, however, the titles were accidentally revealed a few days earlier.

Sony has now removed the information, but the official announcement should follow this Wednesday on July 28th.

In the following section we reveal which games PS Plus users can look forward to (or not).

PS Plus Free Games August 2021: These titles are available for free

There is a possibility that the selection could change, but that is very unlikely.

If until July 28, nothing to get that free will

PS Plus

-

Games for August 2021

have the following titles:

  • "Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville"

    (

    PS4

): A third-person shooter in which the players control either plants or zombies and fight against each other in different modes.

There are a total of 23 classes to choose from.

The local multiplayer mode in split screen should be interesting for co-op fans.

There is a single player campaign, but it is quite simple and short.

  • "Tennis World Tour 2"

    (

    PS4

): The virtual tennis matches can be played online and offline in different modes.

A career mode is also included.

"Tennis World Tour 2" is therefore a simple tennis game, which does not offer any real innovations - and is sometimes very limited in terms of gameplay and animations.

  • "Hunter's Arena: Legends"

    (

    PS5

): This is a battle royale game * in which up to 30 players compete against each other.

It is a close combat focused game that can be played in solo and trio mode.

In addition to opposing players, you also have to fight against computer-controlled demons, which distinguishes "Hunter's Arena: Legends" from other battle royale games.

This is the first month in a long time that PS Plus subscribers found out about next month's free PS Plus games this early.

However, Hunter's Arena: Legends has been one of the free PS Plus games for some time.

All three titles

are due to start on Tuesday

,

March 3

.

August, to be available for free through PS Plus

There are a few reasons why the selection of PS Plus games in August tended to disappoint. Above all

, the players are missing a real highlight

. "Hunter's Arena: Legends" enters a battle royale market that is already saturated. It is unlikely that it will lure fans of "Fortnite", "Apex Legends" or "Warzone" away. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is not a bad game, but you have to like the presentation. Meanwhile, “Tennis World Tour 2” is mainly aimed at tennis fans and cannot keep up with other sports titles such as “FIFA” or “NBA 2K” in terms of quality.

There has not been a comparable negative reaction to the revelation since May 2020, when it even went so far that a petition to change the games was started.

But it shouldn't come to that this time.

It's understandable that Sony won't always be making the biggest and best games available for free on the PS Plus.

Subscribers will certainly get something again in the following months that they prefer.
