(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 26 - Moments of tension this morning in front of the entrance of Parliament, whose security has been entrusted to the army since this night. Two opposing groups were formed, on the one hand the supporters of the Tunisian president Kais Saied, on the other those of the Islamic party Ennhadha, which gathered its voters to "restore democracy" following the decision of President Saied to suspend the work of the Assembly, waive the immunity of aideputati and fire Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi. According to the local Mosaique FM radio, the president of the Parliament and leader of Ennahda Ghanouchi remains in his car in front of the gates.
Tonight the army had prevented him from entering, under Saied's orders.
The situation is unprecedented and the results are unpredictable.
In these circumstances, the head of the security union of the Tunis-Carthage international airport, Anis Ouartani, told state television Watania 1 that arrangements have been made in agreement with those responsible for banning politicians from traveling and leaving the country. .
