On January 3rd, 13-year-old Olly Stephens was stabbed to death in Reading, Berkshire, in the south of England.

A girl is said to have lured him into a park, where two 14-year-old boys inflicted fatal stab wounds in the chest.

Now a court has found the two suspect teenagers guilty of murder.

They lured the boy into an ambush with the 14-year-old girl, the court ruled on Monday.

One of the convicts was 13 years old at the time of the crime.

The sentence will be announced at a later date.

The two perpetrators face life imprisonment.

The defendants had denied the murder charge.

The older of the two boys and the girl had admitted homicide in the process.

A judgment on the 14-year-old was still pending.

Hate motive?

The two perpetrators therefore had "trouble" with the victim, and initially there was no more precise information on the motive.

As reported by the BBC, voice messages were played in court and text messages were presented in which the perpetrators exchanged views that they wanted to take revenge on the victim.

"I hated this guy really passionately," the BBC quotes one of the perpetrators, "if I saw him now, I would probably kill him or something." The girl is said to have described any violence against the 13-year-old as "karma".

The act had highlighted the widespread knife violence among youth in Britain.

Almost every week there are reports of teenagers being stabbed by other teenagers.

Drugs or gang crime often play a role here.
