You already own a house in Los Angeles, an apartment in New York, a house near London and a villa on Lake Como.
Now Amal and George Clooney are also the new owners of a property in Provence.
But the purchase did not go very smoothly.
George Clooney had already announced the purchase of the "Domaine du Canadel", a country house in Brignoles in the south of France, at the beginning of May.
Shortly thereafter, however, the news followed that the property had already been sold and the prospective buyer was still in legal dispute with the previous owners.
Competing prospective buyers went to court
According to the regional newspaper »Var-Matin«, it was about a change in the purchase price.
The villa was initially to be sold for six million euros, but shortly afterwards the owners increased the sum to 6.2 million.
The potential buyer then sued.
So the Clooneys had to wait - until now.
As the Mayor of Brignoles, Didier Bremond, announced, the couple are finally in possession of the country house.
"Now it's official, George and Amal Clooney are residents of our beautiful city," he wrote and posted a picture of themselves with the two of them on their new country estate.
A few months ago he had already spoken out in favor of the two of them as the new owners of the domain.
The presence of such a star in Brignoles would be good for the city, Bremond said at the time.
160 hectares of land, natural lake, vineyard
The "Domaine du Canadel" is a property from the 18th century with around 900 square meters of living space and 160 hectares of land, including a tennis court, pool, natural lake and its own vineyard.
The new neighbors are also old friends: The Clooney's new holiday home is only around 30 minutes' drive from Château Miraval, which belongs to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Director George Lucas also owns a property in the area: he owns the Chateau Margüi.
