(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 27 - A pinch of Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean, a lot of jungle with ferocious animals, waterfalls, a sprinkle of mystery that could change the fate of the world and the right irony to face even the greatest dangers.

Here we are entered into the Disney world of JUNGLECRUISE, a film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, set during the early years of the twentieth century and which takes its name from the rides of the same name that appeared in the playgrounds since 1955, from 28 July in the hall and from 30 in streaming on Disney +.

This is the story. Frank (Dwayne Johnson, better known as 'The Rock'), captain of a small but indomitable boat, known as La Quila, agrees to accompany two British explorers into the depths of the wild Amazon jungle, leaving the scientist Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) and her brother McGregor ( Jack Whitehall). The couple is looking for a mythical tree that possesses extraordinary healing properties: the Tree of Life. The discovery of the shrub could change the future of medicine and save the fate of humanity. The group will have to deal not only with the dangers that the jungle hides, its real inhabitants, the wild animals, which will not miss an opportunity to attack them, but also with another German expedition, ruthless and without any scruple.
