(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 27 - "We could call it the summit of the people. We are still far from zero hunger but the G20 has put this objective at the center of its agenda".
This is what the Minister of Agricultural and Food Policies Patuanelli declared at the pre-FAO summit on food systems.
Patuanelli indicated 4 objectives: eradicating poverty, promoting sustainable agriculture, greater awareness of consumption and protection of models linked to the territory.
"It is an event that can be read as a summit of the people from which we are asked to reflect on agro-food systems towards sustainable and more equitable models. And it is therefore good to start from many different opinions", added the minister. "The diversity of opinions is a value to face this discussion - he said - to find the most suitable solutions. If we all had the same opinions, the solutions would not be the right ones". (HANDLE).
