Virtuous and eco-sustainable rural municipalities are growing in Italy with 18 new entries compared to last year.
In fact, 59 rural locations have been awarded with the Green Spikes 2021, the sixth edition of the recognition that certifies environmental quality and good sustainability practices following a precise certified procedure.
This was announced by FEE Italia - Foundation for Environmental Education and Confagricoltura, specifying that the Green Spikes have been assigned in 14 Italian regions, with 5 municipalities not confirmed. Piedmont stands out on the podium, obtaining the highest number of awards with 10 Green Ears, followed by Tuscany with 7 and by Calabria and Puglia on a par with 6 locations. The recognition is designed to guide rural municipalities, step by step through indicators, to choose territorial management strategies in a virtuous path that benefits the environment and the quality of life of the entire community.
