They are from Salta. But the call is open to the entire country. They have no preference for one type of home: they understand that there are different types of families.

Six brothers from Salta who are waiting to be adopted by a family asked the Justice

not to be separated

.

A 12-year-old male;

a girl of 11;

two other boys, twins aged 10;

another 9 and a 7-year-old girl

want to continue being part of the same family

, and that is why they all seek to be adopted together.

Currently, they all reside together in a Small Home device, run by the Secretariat for Early Childhood, Childhood and Family of the Salta Executive Branch.

They attend a regular school and share everyday recreational activities.

"It is

a very united group of brothers

," they explained from the judicial headquarters.

The process of searching for adopters began a month ago.

There was a request for collaboration at the national level, but without result: there are no families registered for an adoption of these characteristics.

For this reason, from the Justice of Salta

a public call

was made

.

Matías Palomo is a psychologist at the Adoption Registry of the province of Salta, and in dialogue with

Clarín he

said that on Friday he was with the boys “because as these cases are widely disseminated, it is important

that they know what to expect

when there are issues that are going to be linked to its history ”.

Due to their ages, these six siblings

should be in different homes in the State

, but since the Secretary for Children of Salta has these "Small Home" devices for family groups to have a joint coexistence, it was arranged that they live there.

The State intervened in the lives of these boys in 2018 due to the existence in their family of a

risk situation

that led to the boys being institutionalized.

It was tried that the boys returned with their biological family, to reconstitute the bond, which was what they wanted.

It was tried that the family group can contain them, but the attempts were unsuccessful and the Justice included them in the protection system in 2019, and in November 2020 their

declaration of adoptability came out

.

After the decision of the Justice and the absence of an appeal from their parents, "the family that is being sought is for a

full adoption

," Palomo explained to this newspaper.

Guys don't want their names or faces out there.

Asked about the minors' knowledge of their situation, the psychologist explained: “There is a team that works with them regarding the legal situations that they were going through with their family.

It was not feasible for them to stay with their mother

;

his extended family was sought out and that didn't work out either.

For this reason, the judge explained the decision taken, explained that there was no possibility that they would return to their nuclear or extended family, and they took what the judge told them and the only request they made was to

have the possibility of supporting the six together

”.

“The boys are very alert and attentive to their situation.

The first thing was that they

did not want their names or their faces to come out

.

The oldest of the brothers, who is 12, is the one who takes the floor initially, he is the one who has a posture of overprotection over the younger ones, "said Palomo.

Something that those who closely follow this case stand out is that the boys also stated that "

they do not have a preference for a particular mode of family formation

, because they understand that there are different modes of families", and they are also aware that "to be limited to a single type As a family, the possibilities were reduced, but they also know that “perhaps a single father or a single mother would get very tired with them, being six”.

“They are fans of Legos.

Very recently, a family that adopted a teenager from home

gave them a PlayStation 2

, so they are beginning to have contact with games and compete with each other, "explained Palomo about the routine of the boys.

In the last five years there have been three cases similar to this, groups of five or six siblings who asked to stay together in an adoption.

In any case, "Palomo explained," Salta has a fraternal bonding protocol that foresees that if the boys are adopted by different families

, the bond and closeness

between them will be maintained.

The boys know that if a certain amount of time passes, they may be assigned to different families, Palomo said.

The illusion, above all

In one of the many meetings with the brothers, Palomo brought them a map of Argentina, with the province of Salta painted on and making them understand that in this process there may be

interested families from anywhere in the country

.

“The boys raised the fantasy that

if it were a southern province they could ski

, if it was near the coast they could see

the sea

, they imagined different scenarios.

They need to be able to anticipate what is going to happen in order to think about themselves in different scenarios, "said the professional.

The oldest of the brothers repeats to the younger ones that "the only thing that matters about the family is that they love you and take care of you."

Regarding this illusion and the possibility that it will take time for the right family for them to appear, Palomo said: "They are discouraged by

the idea of thinking that no one is applying to adopt

the six of them together, it is something that generates some kind of anguish."

The adoption process

The first step, explained from the judicial headquarters to

Clarín

, is that if someone is thinking that they could adopt the Salta boys, they should contact them.

An initial contact does not imply any legal obligation

and is usually useful to clear any doubts that there are.

“The concept we want to convey is that if someone is anticipating that they can apply,

minimally contact them, that does not require any commitment.

When the clearance interview is requested, even in that instance there is no legal obligation, but it is to order and filter ”, added Palomo.

The families that apply for this call must have a

material structure that allows them to face this commitment in a sufficiently minimal way

, as well as permeability to the professional accompaniment that the process necessarily implies.

The Salta Justice pointed out that it will not answer questions contrary to the adoption request of all the children involved.

Families from all over the country are summoned to consider themselves in a position to adopt this group of siblings who do not want to be separated.

People who are interested in applying for this call can contact the Adoption Registry of the province of Salta by email at

regadop1@justiciasalta.gov.ar

.

For telephone inquiries, the Tutelary Secretariat will

answer 0387-425-8026

, Monday through Friday from 8

a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those families that contact the Registry from other Jurisdictions must carry out a

clearance interview

, from which the Registry corresponding to their province will carry out a primary suitability report to determine the origin and viability of the application, according to the agreed Public Announcements Protocol. by all the provinces and the DNRUA.

If there were

more than one

suitable

family

, it would be the judge herself who, evaluating the children's history, would decide which of them best suits the children's interests.

“The requirements are not difficult, the difficulty is that the registered people

only want to adopt children from 0 to 3 years old

.

If the boys are over six years of age, if they are part of a group of siblings or have any pathology, there are no families willing to adopt them, ”revealed Palomo about the current situation regarding adoption requests.

The professional also suggests that "people who are thinking of adopting make a

deep analysis of their desire

and if it is tied only to a baby or child up to three years old, it is a desire that has many limitations."

"To the extent that one can make more flexible the age range or the number of children who are willing to adopt, or what is linked to disability or pathology,

the chances of realizing their wishes

to be parents increase," added the psychologist.

And he concluded: "The adoption institute is there to guarantee the right of a child to be part of a family and we need more families that have these variables of flexibility."

Regardless of this one-off call,

there are many

,

many children

across the country waiting to be adopted.
