The regional natural park of Armorica and the environmental association Bretagne vivante deplored the holding of rave parties "in very fragile natural sites", saying they were "worried" about their consequences on biodiversity.
In the viewfinder, the two entities judge that the three raves which took place between May and July in Finistère (Brasparts, Brennilis and Loqueffret).
"The meticulous follow-ups carried out by naturalists, for example, highlight nesting failures after these events", indicate the Regional Natural Park of Armorica and Living Brittany which ask "for the first time to the State to take the appropriate measures ”.
Disturbed harrier pairs
According to them, the Arrée mountains represent 8,000 hectares of moors and peat bogs out of the 14,000 that remain in Brittany against a million hectares two centuries ago.
“We find there the last populations of the region of the common curlew, the Saint-Martin harrier or the common harrier.
Unfortunately these species are in a critical situation ”, regret the two institutions.
However, according to these entities, “the Loqueffret rave party directly disturbed pairs of common harriers and Saint-Martin harriers. That of Brennilis was very close to one of the last twenty pairs of curlews in Brittany. That of Brasparts was very close to the sources of the Rivoal where a couple of Saint Martin's harriers and a couple of common harriers nests ”.
