An anesthetist from Israel is suspected of using drastic means to get rid of a supposed rival.
As the Israeli Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday, the 37-year-old has to answer in court.
According to the indictment, the medic tried to murder the partner of his loved one with narcotics.
Almost two weeks ago, the doctor broke into the man's apartment in the town of Rechovot.
According to a report by the Jerusalem Post, he is said to have stolen a house key for this purpose.
Sleeping victim attacked with taser
He attacked the sleeping man with a stun gun and then tried to inject him with the drug.
However, the victim woke up and managed to push the attacker out of the apartment.
The attacker fled but was stopped by the police shortly afterwards.
Among other things, ampoules containing a strong anesthetic were found in the suspect's car.
This could be fatal from a certain dose, it was said.
It is not yet known which preparation should be used.
The doctor had apparently fallen in love with a colleague and made advances to her again and again in the run-up to the act.
He is said to have given her gifts and text messages as well as taking intimate photos of himself with her cell phone.
Now the 37-year-old has to answer for attempted murder.
