In the case of a robbery in Ravensburg, a 16-year-old was sentenced to a youth sentence of nine and a half years.
The district court of the Baden-Württemberg city also ordered preventive detention for the young people.
The maximum under youth criminal law is ten years imprisonment.
The court was convinced that the young person attacked her randomly chosen victim from behind at the Ravensburg train station in early February and stabbed her neck with great force.
She was after the 62-year-old's purse, cash and a cell phone.
Then the then 15-year-old fled, leaving the dying victim behind.
She had only served a juvenile sentence for robbery shortly before the crime.
