The data of five million users cannot be deceiving: A French manufacturer of smart health devices and fitness trackers has evaluated how fit users are in different countries.
Not only European users were taken into account: The fitness level of Russians, Chinese and Americans was also recorded

, the
evaluated data show
: With regard to the number of steps taken daily, Germans are in the middle of the field: With an average of 5,877 steps per day, Germany ranks 10th in the step ranking.
Spain and Sweden take first and second place with an average of 6,527 for the Spaniards and 6,469 steps for the Swedes.
The Italians are a little more lazy: They take 12th place with 5,851 steps.

According to the tracking data from Withings, the Germans were able to book a total of 461,951 swimming hours in the evaluation period from August 1, 2016 to July 15, 2021.
This puts them in third place behind the USA and France in the "swimming" discipline.
The Americans made it to second place with 504,544 hours - far behind France.
With 829,555 swimming hours, the French are the absolute front runners when it comes to swimming

According to the data collected, the Italians are not the greatest fans of breaststroke, backstroke and crawl: They rank 12th with 69,767 swimming hours.

On average, Germans engage in 2.82 sporting activities, as can be seen from the tracking data.
This puts the German citizens in 5th place in the ranking.
The Russians bring up the rear with 1.88 average activities, the Finns are most enthusiastic about several sports.
With an average of 3.61 sports they are in first place. The Italians, with 2.21, are far behind in 17th place
