US actor Bob Odenkirk remains in hospital after his collapse.

But he is in stable shape.

This has now been announced by his spokesman.

The 58-year-old Odenkirk had collapsed on Tuesday while filming the sixth season of the series "Better Call Saul" and was taken to a hospital.

Nothing was known about the background.

Odenkirk's spokesman did not give any further details either.

All they wrote was that Odenkirk had been taken to hospital after an "incident related to his heart".

The whole family would like to thank the hospital staff, as well as the film crew and all those who would have sent well wishes.

Shortly before the Odenkirk team published the statement, his son Nate had already tweeted: "He will be fine."

"Better Call Saul" is a spin-off from "Breaking Bad".

In both series, Bob Odenkirk plays the lawyer Jimmy McGill, who eventually becomes Saul Goodman.

Odenkirk was nominated for four Emmys in the past.

However, he has won two Emmys for other productions: as a writer on “The Ben Stiller Show” and “Saturday Night Live”.

The sixth and final season of "Better Call Saul" was originally supposed to start this year.

Due to the corona pandemic, production was delayed and is now expected to be seen in 2022.

The shooting takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Numerous colleagues from Odenkirk had reported after the first reports of the actor's collapse.

"I woke up today to the news that made me nervous all day," wrote Brian Cranston, leading actor in "Breaking Bad."
