(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 29 - Leap of inflation in Germany in July. According to preliminary estimates released by the statistical office Destatis, it rose to 3.8% year on year and to 0.9% compared to June. At the harmonized level, the increase was respectively 3.1% and 0.5%. The rise is the largest increase since 2008 and country unification in 1993, respectively, and has exceeded analysts' expectations. The effects deriving from the VAT reductions in 2020 due to the Covid crisis, reductions that ended in January of this year, also contributed to the year-on-year result, reads the Destatis press release.
