According to US media reports, Netflix wants to oblige its set employees to vaccinate against Covid-19. According to information from the industry platform Deadline, the obligation initially only applies to productions in the USA. The streaming service provider confirmed the plans to the media network "The Verge". Netflix is following an agreement that the Hollywood unions made with the studios last week: In film productions, vaccinations can be made mandatory in some cases - at least for employees in the so-called "Zone A". This means all actors and people who work closely with them on the set.
Vaccination has already been introduced for individual productions such as the Watergate series »Gaslit«.
According to information from the industry platform “Deadline”, the streaming provider only wants to allow exceptions in rare cases: for medical, religious or age-related reasons.
Also for some series and films that are already in production.
Netflix's decision falls in a fourth corona wave in the USA.
In the meantime, the number of new infections there is increasing again every day.
The seven-day incidence is over 130.
