The range of zombie films and series has been growing for years.
Obviously, the topic is still in demand.
For example, “The Walking Dead” and its two existing spin-offs are among the most popular representatives of the genre.
Most recently, Netflix * also released the film "Army of the Dead" with Dave Bautista and Matthias Schweighöfer, which is very popular.
The streaming service has other zombie originals up its sleeve.
The South Korean series "Kingdom", which also revolves around the undead, is a little less known.
However, it has a unique selling point:
the action takes place in the past
, when kings and the nobility still had power over the entire country.

"Kingdom": The plot of the Netflix series
Crown Prince Ju Ji-hoon makes it his business to get to the bottom of a strange disease.
Initially, this only appears to have erupted in one region of Korea.
Together with other allies, he realizes that the plague is able to bring people back to life and turn them into bloodthirsty monsters.
Ju Ji-hoon does everything possible to prevent the disease from spreading.
Unfortunately, the most influential people at the royal court conspire against the crown prince - so he has to forego royal support in the fight against the plague for the time being.

The long wait is definitely not a good sign.
It could indicate that production won't get a sequel.
At the same time, the corona pandemic may be a reason for the delays. The makers may want to wait until the situation has calmed down in order to then carry out new filming.
By the way, those who can't wait any longer are in luck: The film
“Kingdom: Ashin of the North” has been available
on Netflix
