Greece has decided to deploy additional police officers to the holiday islands to intensify anti-Covid controls
,
especially in the places frequented by younger people, to counter the worrying spread of the Delta variant.
The Guardian reports it.
About 186 units were sent to Mykonos, up from 56 last year, while another 30 agents were deployed to Ios.
According to the deputy minister of civil protection, Nikos Hardalias, the two islands are "one step away" from new restrictions.
