Sanitary controls increased in Córdoba in the last hours due to the man who arrived from Peru, did not confine himself and infected 14 people with the Delta variant of coronavirus.
So far, there are 160 isolated but the authorities warned that the number could increase and they track more than 200 people.
In addition, two schools closed.
Track, detect, test and isolate.
That is the intense operation that the Cordoba Ministry of Health was carrying out early this Friday to prevent an increase in infections from the first carrier of the Delta variant in the province.
The Secretary of Health, Gabriela Barbás, informed the press that "intense work is being done to isolate" this new variant, and
"follow-ups and traces"
are being carried out
on more than 200 people
for contacts with case zero and the 14 people detected. that were infected.
In the morning, the
tests
began
in the educational community
of the schools, in the capital of Córdoba, where boys from families with positive diagnoses attend.
There are, at the moment, 160 isolated people and five school bubbles, in three provincial schools and one municipal, who had to suspend presence, according to the local newspaper
La Voz del Interior
.
In addition, two establishments, one public and one private,
suspended presence in all their bubbles

The local government had reported this Thursday that the carrier of the virus is a traveler from Lima (Peru) who had arrived at Jorge Newbery Airport with a negative test before the flight on July 19, 2021.
Two days later, the control, telephone follow-up was carried out and the test corresponding to the seventh day was scheduled.
On July 26, the discharge test was performed and
the result was positive
for the 62-year-old man.
After the epidemiological investigation, it was identified that the case
had contact with non-cohabiting relatives
during the period that it had to be isolated, and that from then on 14 positive cases have been detected in associated relatives so far, of which 13 have identification of variant Delta and one has yet to be identified.
"He arrived in Argentina and a nephew took him to his home. The next day he went to the house of a relative who lives in another neighborhood and maintained contact with people," health sources reported.

For this reason, the authorities of the Ministry of Health made
the criminal complaint in the Fiscal Unit of Sanitary Emergencies (UFES)
for the initiation of the corresponding legal actions, and to determine the responsibility and possible violation of the quarantine on the part of the traveler involved.
The infectious disease specialist Hugo Pizzi expressed his concern about the situation, stating that "it is an epidemiological stumbling block of great dimensions due to the indiscipline, the lack of empathy and the lack of common sense of this person."
In dialogue with the University of Córdoba radio, he added that "the people who come to the country know about the measures they must comply with, how they should behave, and yet later a person comes and
throws an epidemiological bomb
of these characteristics at us. attitude".
"For now there are 160 isolated and controlled people, but we do not know if there was a loophole out there where the virus escaped. This variant has a much greater contagion capacity than the others," warned the infectologist.
