The extension to women with no age limits is underway of the concessions provided until yesterday only for young agricultural entrepreneurs with the 'More enterprise' measure of Ismea. The Sostegni-Bis decree converted into law provides for this, with an amendment intended to favor female entrepreneurs in agriculture which today represents 26% of the total.
This is a non-repayable grant of up to 35% of eligible expenses and a zero-rate mortgage for the remainder within the limits of 60% of the investment, which entrepreneurs and companies with total or predominantly female participation can benefit from. . An important support, says Ismea, which is added to the 'Donne in Campo' instrument which remains operational.
At the end of 2020 there were 233,000 women in agriculture out of a total of 912,000 employed, where the South stands out. In some regions there is a higher incidence than the national average: Campania (39%), Basilicata (39%), Molise (36%), Liguria (34%), the autonomous province of Trento (32%) and Abruzzo (32%). Especially in some regions of the South, such as Calabria, Basilicata and Molise, agriculture has a social function and helps to reduce female unemployment; on the contrary, a particularly low incidence is evident in Sardinia (11%), Lombardy (17%), Sicily (19%). In December there were 56,300 female agricultural enterprises registered in the chamber registers, 28.3% of enterprises in all economic sectors (735.5 thousand).
