Deeply integrated into the right-wing scene, no doubt about the perpetrator: In the trial against Susanne G. the evidence is overwhelming. The court called their explanation "just adventurous" - and judged clearly.

The Senate leaves no doubt as to how dangerous it considers Susanne G.

When the naturopath from Franconia was arrested in September 2020, she had everything she needed for an incendiary bomb in her car: gasoline, plastic bottles, fireworks, adhesive tape.

Susanne G. had the components of a bomb "close at hand" when she left her house in Leinburg near Nuremberg

left and gone into hiding.

The presiding judge Michael Höhne repeated the word "ready to hand" several times.

"An attack was imminent" - the State Security Senate of the Munich Higher Regional Court is convinced.

"If the police had not had access, we would not judge the preparation of an attack today, but rather its fatal consequences," says the judge.

Only because of the timely arrest of Susanne G. no further terrorist act was added to the right-wing extremist attacks in Halle, Hanau and Kassel.

On Friday, the Senate sentenced Susanne G. to a total imprisonment of six years for preparing a serious act of violence, threats and other offenses, and ordered conduct supervision.

The judge is thereby following the demand of the Federal Prosecutor's Office.

The representatives of the accessory prosecution had requested eight years' imprisonment.

The defense had demanded that Susanne G. be acquitted of the allegations of preparing an act of terrorism and the threat.

The judgment is not final.

"Tattooed for eternity"

"'Public enemy" - this word adorns the décolleté of the accused, "says Judge Höhne right at the beginning of the verdict," tattooed for eternity ".

Susanne G. wears other tattoos that leave no doubt about her attitude.

Among them a swastika, the SS saying "My honor means loyalty" and the number 88, a Nazi code for "Heil Hitler".

The judge also remembers Susanne G's bedroom.

The 55-year-old alternative practitioner slept under a huge swastika flag.

When exactly Susanne G. decided to follow her convictions, the evidence could not clarify. The Senate is convinced that she took action from December 2019. The court has no doubt that it was she who sent threatening letters to the district administrator in the Nürnberger Land district, to a mayor, a Turkish-Islamic community and a refugee aid association.

On the condolence card that District Administrator Armin Kroder received, his date of birth and a question mark instead of a date of death was noted. In addition, the death announcement: "Shot on the terrace of the Kroder-Hof" It was only six months ago that a neo-Nazi had shot the Kassel district president Walter Lübcke on his terrace. District Administrator Kroder later received another threatening card: "Last warning". This time there was a sharp cartridge in the envelope.

In March 2020, Susanne G.'s house was searched.

She remained at large.

In May 2020, the court was convinced that she bought a relevant book.

This contains instructions for building a so-called gasoline hand bomb.

The judge reads excerpts.

These are exactly the things that were found in Susanne G's car in September 2020.

An expert at the trial had declared that the bomb would have been functional and potentially fatal.

For months she spied out possible victims

"The Senate has no doubts about the culprits of the accused," says the judge. The defendant was determined to use the incendiary device to attack politicians, police officers or Muslims. On her mobile phone she found photos of the district administrator's yard and other pictures that the court interpreted as being spied on by police officers and the Muslim community. On her cell phone, she also had the video of the attack in Christchurch, New Zealand, and a pamphlet of the right-wing extremist who killed 51 Muslims in two mosques in March 2019.

Susanne G. has denied the allegations in court.

The judge calls her explanation for the things in her car "just adventurous".

She used the gasoline to fill up her motorcycle and simply wanted to return the empty bottles for a deposit.

And the fireworks were probably left over from New Year's Eve.

In any case, she did not want to build a bomb.

The Senate sees it differently.

"The defendant was determined to commit an attack with fatal consequences for the victims." For months she spied out possible victims.

She also conscientiously prepared her immersion.

Despite NSU confidants - the Senate considers Susanne G. to be a lone perpetrator

Susanne G. is "deeply integrated into the right-wing scene".

Nevertheless - "despite extensive evidence" - "not a single fact-based clue" emerged that Susanne G. had helpers or supporters or informed others about her plans.

The judge means Ralf Wohlleben and André E. He does not pronounce the names of the two NSU confidants.

E. and Wohlleben are well acquainted with Susanne G.

They were never questioned on this matter.

Neither from the police nor in court.

Your lawyers had asserted a comprehensive right to refuse to provide information.

Wohlleben and E. do not have to expose themselves to the risk of criminal prosecution. You can be silent.

For the Senate, Susanne G. is a lone perpetrator who wanted to emulate the attackers from Hanau, Halle, Munich, Christchurch and Utoya. The court is convinced that Susanne G. also wanted to kill.
