Córdoba registers this Saturday
twenty cases
of coronavirus caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 and
more than 800 people remain
preventively
isolated
in the province because they are contacts or close contacts of those infected.
Meanwhile, the surveys and tests focused on the educational community and the intra-family environment of the virus carriers continue, reported from the Cordoba Ministry of Health.
At the same time, there are five arrested and charged as responsible for causing the outbreak.
It is about a Peruvian traveler who entered the country in mid-July and another citizen of the same nationality who maintained close contact with the first, to which are added three Argentines who
did not comply with isolation
or sanitary regulations to avoid the spread of the virus, reported the Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF).
The director of Epidemiology of the province, Laura López, told the local media that there are 20 positive cases,
all residents in the city of Córdoba
, and more than 800 isolated people.
From Government House they detailed that this Saturday the detection operations of the Delta variant continue, while waiting for results, and that on Friday
three operations
were carried out
with 318 studies carried out
, of which 123 correspond to PCR tests and 195 to antigen detection test.
Between Saturday and Sunday, the results of more than half a thousand tests will be known, which include those carried out on
school bubbles in five schools in the Cordovan capital
.
In addition, the sanitization of these establishments continues.
The Minister of Health of the Nation, Carla Vizzotti, referred to the cases of the Delta variant reported in the country and raised the need for the provinces to carry out the controls: "We are with controls in Ezeiza, but
coordinated work with the different provinces
and municipalities, "he remarked.
"You have to be realistic, it
is impossible for the national state to control
if there is no support in each province, we need to work this together and also with society," the official stressed.
In statements made to Radio 10, Vizzotti asserted that "we must value all that we have been able to delay" the arrival of the Delta variant to the country, but "if the importance of the recommendations
is
not understood, it
is very difficult
."
He also stated that "
by no means do we have a predominant circulation
" of the Delta variant, and asked "to continue delaying this from happening, strengthening care not only in Córdoba, Salta and the city of Buenos Aires [where outbreaks were detected], but also in everywhere".
A 62-year-old man, of Peruvian nationality, entered the variant of the virus in the Mediterranean province.
On July 19, he arrived at Jorge Newbery Airport from Lima (Peru)
with a negative test
.
Two days later, another control, telephone follow-up was carried out, and the test corresponding to the seventh day after his arrival in the country was scheduled.
Finally, on July 26, in Córdoba, the test was carried out to grant him discharge and it
was then that the disease was detected
, the provincial government reported.
The court case
The Peruvian who traveled from his country
"violated the rules of restriction"
for not complying with the isolation required of newcomers from abroad.
While his compatriot did not respect the restrictions to which he should have been subjected due to being close contact with the former, he maintains the summary of the judicial case initiated after the complaint by the Government of Córdoba.
Meanwhile, about the three Argentines, it was found that they
did not keep isolation
despite knowing that they had coronavirus of the Delta variant, and they opened their shops and served customers, the MPF report details.
The coronavirus outbreak so far has occurred in an intra-family nucleus and the isolates are elderly and minors with contact or close contact with the traveler who, as reported, is
in good health
like the other patients.
None of them required, for now, hospitalization.
