The forest fires, which have been raging for days, have now claimed six lives, and two forest workers died while extinguishing the fire.
According to the authorities, ten forest fires are still active, three of them in the popular holiday region on the Mediterranean coast.
A total of 98 fires have raged in numerous provinces since Wednesday, 88 of which, according to the Turkish Forest Minister, are under control.

According to a Kremlin announcement, Russian President Putin had promised "comprehensive aid" to Turkish head of state Erdogan.
The situation remains tense: On the Turkish Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, intense heat of more than 40 degrees is expected in the next few days.
